Curiouser and Curiouser
Often in assessment debriefs, leaders share they have received feedback that they are not strategic enough, but they don't know what to do with that feedback. It feels vague, frustrating, maybe even unfair.
I propose, the answer lies in curiosity.
Group Coaching Kick-off
Last week I traveled to Philly to kick off a new group coaching cohort with a group of new leaders. At the start of our time together, the one-word check-ins painted a familiar picture: "Tired." "Overwhelmed." "Tired" again. The weight of juggling multiple priorities and endless to-do lists was palpable in the room.
Intentional Prioritization
I've been having lots of conversations about priority setting lately. Maybe it's because summer kicked in and the kids are home. Time feels even more precious when it's divided between work and "Mom, can you help me find my other croc?" (which, by the way, was stolen by our friendly neighborhood fox).
Feedback as a Prism
Last week marked the final session of a group coaching program that really made me think differently about perspective. As we shared our takeaways, one participant's words about the impact the program had for her really resonated with me. She shared "It’s like a new prism through which to view my life."
Pause > Overwhelm
I felt it this morning - that familiar knot in my stomach, the mental spiral of my to-do list, the urge to just DO ALL THE THINGS right now.
Everything is Figuroutable
Everything is figuroutable. Not everything is easy. Not everything unfolds the way we hoped. But figuroutable? Yup.
Meaningful Feedback
I'm an hour into a 360 interview with a senior leader when she stops mid-sentence: "Wait, let me think about how to phrase this in a way that's most actionable for him."
Can Coffee Solve All Problems?
20 years ago, a dear friend wrote this to me in a card after one of our many Saturday morning coffee runs.
